MATCH - TATTOO RECOGNITION
HOW MACHINE TATTOO DETECTION WORKS.
Tattoo recognition works similarly to face recognition. MATCH creates a mathematical representation from recorded tattoos and saves it in so-called templates, which are then used for comparative research. This is particularly advantageous for very large image collections that have to be evaluated within seconds.
In addition to this classic configuration in the network, including a database with templates, MATCH can also carry out the recognition process on-the-fly. In other words, it can also directly evaluate image files that are in file format without creating templates. This procedure is particularly useful when there are no complex IT structures available.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PTOBE IMAGES.
MATCH can carry out a research with reliable recognition using individual tattoo motifs, but also with motif fragments or with several connected tattoos.
INTEGRATION INTO IT-ENVIRONMENTS.
As a new member of the Integrated System for Identifying Suspects - ISIS - MATCH can immediately process the tattoo images captured by FACES.NET. This requires only minimal installation effort (MATCH installation on workstation), since the existing ISIS database structures are also used. Biographical metadata is already available for all Tattoo Match results and is used to finally determine the person's identities.
